Media and video

Elite Category

This category is for Elite races. It requires high level of preparation and racers who avoid or fail to complete an obstacle are assigned a penalty—generally 30 burpees—which they must complete in order to advance. Failure to complete an obstacle and the associated penalty results in immediate disqualification. This ensures our race results are fair and unbiased. Entrants either complete the course or they don’t.

Open Category

This category is for all of us. It requires very low preparation and racers who avoid or fail to complete an obstacle are assigned a funny penalty—generally water and mud

TEAM Category

This is an elite category but the race is realized in TEAM composed by 3 persons – two male and 1 female. The team category is based on team building and the team ranking is based on the last arrival of the group.

Why Illyrian Race

There is no quick answer, or at least not one that is easily encapsulated in a simple sentence.

The goal is to push you to overcome your short-term desire for comfort in an effort to practice reaching for something greater than your current situation. Anyone can run up a hill. What about going up the same hill crawling under 50m of barbed wire?

Obstacles and mental challenges force our athletes to be agile and capable in movements that are lateral as well as linear, as well as resilient to plenty of surprises.

Illyrian Race obstacles are equalizers. You can’t win a Illyrian Race on speed or strength or even endurance alone. You will need guts, fortitude, and a desire to finish, pushing yourself through the obstructions before you. It will hurt, we promise. It will also be the most fun you’ve had in a long time.
